//////// Partition for muscles and sampler  13 January 2005

from Hardware

This performance uses the dancer’s body as an electronic percussive instrument. Movements are produced directly on the body by an electric stimulation of the muscles through electrodes (system used for rehabilitation or top level sport). This stimulation mechanism has widely improved these last few years, it is now able to simulate very closely the normal signal sent by the brain thus needing a very small amount of energy to produce very impressive effects without danger for the performer (skin burn, muscle pain, ...).

Note      --> Muscle
Velocity   --> Intensity (force)
Instrument --> Frequency
  (for example :
   100Hz = tetanic movement = flute,
   5Hz = shaking = oboe,
   ...)
